Zero to Kona in 4.5 Years

Greg & PACEperformance have been my coach for 4.5 years and to sum it up – zero to Kona in 4.5 yrs.

2010 Ironman Wisconsin - 1st place in age group & Kona qualifier

In terms of results it has meant as an age group competitor I have been on the podium in all my triathlon and running events, qualified for 2 Boston Marathons and finished top 10 at Around the Bay Road Race twice.

I didn’t start out as a biker, runner or swimmer! And to Greg’s credit, I have stayed injury free through all my training.

More importantly, PACEperformance has designed programs that:

    • put me on the start line ready to go
    • kept me focused on the “A” race
    • ensured I maintained my fitness levels during the off-season but recovered and had fun
    • identified the skills that needed improvement and designed the program to make those improvements
    •  motivated me with demanding but achievable goals
    • created new, interesting and fun training opportunities (Tucson & Collingwood Camp, Muskoka rides, Nasty Girls!)
    • provided psychological support when needed – especially before a race

Simply put, PACEperformance took me from a ‘mature’ athlete who wanted to do one 70.3 and gave me the courage and motivation to become not only a Boston Marathoner, an Ironman but also an age group winner going to the 70.3 World Championships. All of this was done in a supportive environment where being a part of the “PACE” team means having fun while achieving the athletic goal. Each year has brought new challenges and new rewards and I can’t wait for the next round.
